This table was generated from a BASIC programme using the “twelfth root of two” relation (twelve notes in an octave):

f = octave x 27.5 x 2(note/12)

Use these frequencies with a little caution. There is a musical consideration called temprament which applies particularly to pianos and organs.

To temper a piano tuning is to very slightly de-tune the notes for the best musical compromise for all the note relationships in every musical key.

A piano tuned with a frequency counter strictly following the table above will sound unexciting and somewhat sour in tune. This is the general problem of electronic keyboards that use a single master oscillator-divider tone source.

Tempering adjusts the degree of dissonance between the notes until a musically agreeable result is obtained in all musical keys.

It is possible for temprament to be set, or the tuning to “drop” to favor some musical keys over others.
